Statistics Hack. LMAO
I don't have a good host, it's free so the actual traffic stuff isn't very good. I hope to get some cPanel hosting soon with stuff. _________________ http://truestarforums.com

Patrick,
We are using AWStats, Webalizer and Google Analytics at the moment.
I used to love Urchin before it become part of Google and I don't think that's any fault of Google's. I just think that latest version has much less reporting than older versions did and I miss those reports. It was hands down the best reports I'd ever seen. But the new system just doesn't give me the reports I want, the way I want them. AWStats comes as close as I can get. |

Thanks Chris. The thing I don't like about StatCounter is it only saves data on a very limited number of visitors. It has a summary (i.e. 15 unique visitors and 168 pageviews on December 6, 2005) forever, but as far as browser, resolution, referrer, etc., there is not much.
I used to use PowerPhlogger, but hosting it on my server(s) just added trouble. I pay $19 a month for StatCounter, like I said above (actually a little less than that, since I have now opted to pay every 3 months and get a little discount).
There are some nice options out there, but anything that charges per site doesn't really work for me for obvious reasons. lol _________________ Patrick O'Keefe - DeveloperCube Administrator | Articles

I've been meaning to try StatCounter, just haven't got around to it.
The main thing I want in stats are this:
Total Uniques, Visitors, Pageviews (stored forever, or at least yearly)
Referrers (All, not just top X)
Popular / Top Pages (All of them, not just top x)
Search Engine Bots
Keywords
Country
I think that's all I'd say were mandatory in a stats package. But if I could have my cake and eat it too, then I'd want stuff like Browser, OS, Screen Size etc. Though not vital, sometimes I'd like to know these things. AWStats does almost all of this but it's a resource pig during updates (I run it 2-3 times a day on slow servers, 1 time on busy servers) and I have to install it manually.
I used PowerPhlogger for a bit too and I generally liked it. The reports could have been a little neater but it had most of the info I wanted. But yeah, it was quite a resource hog. Though with a dedicated logging server that might not be so bad if I was that worried about stats. I might look around at other stat packages like it and if I find one that just "ROCKS" I'll make sure to share |
