For those that run several sites, how do you manage your sites. Do you have tasks with priority settings or do you work on something that needs doing as it arises?
I always find I end up getting side tracked when there's something that needs doing. How do you deal with these kinds of things? _________________ Keith McLaughlin - DeveloperCube Moderator

I manage my sites on a maintenance schedule. I visit and review each site regularly and schedule any work that needs to be done, the priority of the work depends on the severity of the need for the site operation.
Of course if site is having major errors, such as pages not showing or backend dB malfunctions, it gets immediate attention.
Since I am also a network and email server admin, this works well with my site webmaster duties. |

I've tried using Outlook and a Tasks php script but I always end up not launching Outlook or running the script to see what I need to do. I'm hopeless are keeping track of tasks hehe. _________________ Keith McLaughlin - DeveloperCube Moderator

This may sound like a plug but I use the Franklin Covey system to prioritize my daily tasks by levels of importance. I got my first Franklin planner over 4 years ago when working for a large corporation. They bought me the planner and send me to training to learn how to plan and prioritize my time.
Now you can buy the planners in Staples... well worth the small investment. You can also get software or a PDA with the Franklin system.
Might also want to read "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People." It's by Steven Covey (of Franklin Covey) and is a great read. _________________ Brandon Eley
