| What made you want to start web design? What did you use to help you get on track? I got real bored and started searching on the internet and came across http://davesite.com and started with basic html. i then bought a book which gave me most everything else i know. the rest of my knowledge comes from http://webdevforums.com and http://p-lance.com/forum . |

I got a job working for AOL as technical support. A few of the guys that I worked with where into web design. That's how I got interested. I learnt HTML from www.htmlgoodies.com and then found webmaster-resources.com (now sitepoint.com). I went from there. _________________ Keith McLaughlin - DeveloperCube Moderator

I just used Front Page for a long long time, and when I decided I wanted to learn HTML, I openned up the HTML tab on front Page, and looked at the code I had made. I learned all the basics in literally 5 minutes, just by looking at my own code. _________________ www.extremestuff.net

It was really my mate Paul which pushed me into this area, I had dabbled with html before, but it was really him that got me going... _________________ Matthew Abbott

Necessity - the mother of invention. I was already an experienced programmer and multimedia graphics designer. I needed a website and didn't like what was being offered to me. _________________ The McKernan Corp |

I started out on Geocities WYSIWYG program, then developed from that. Then someone directed me to HTML Goodies and I learnt quite a lot from that.
I've just bought a book on PHP so I'm going to try and conquer that next _________________ DC - Catches your eye like an exposed thong in a queue waiting for the cash machine. |

I played around with things like Geocities and Tripod. Then I realized that I wouldn't be able to do anything but create boring stuff if I kept using those. When I started everything I made was all text. Then I bought Frontpage. After that I began to learn to make graphics. Pretty much everything I learned was just from looking at other sites, forums, and asking friends. I have some books, but just use them for when I get in a jam or need inspiration. Next I would like to learn to code PHP. _________________ Josh Ulfers
